A 27 unit apartment fire displaced all 17 occupied units on July 9. Our response included opening a shelter for the displaced. Thank you to all who helped with staffing the shelter for the week it was opened. We provided provided three meals a day, snacks, medical care, counseling, and overnight lodging. We helped clients with short-term and long-term needs.
To date, we have opened cases for 14 households. Thank you to Cindy Cain, Rod Parsons, Ray Teschke, Paul Lucey, Tom Rossmiller, Kristy Wipperman, Paul Beinicke, John Draper, Hillary Wanecke, and Pat Cain. Special thank you to those who took on leadership roles, particularly Sally Habanek, and those who took shifts in the shelter at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
